How to Search.

There are several ways to find items on our site.

Via the Search Bar:

There are two search bars; one at the top of the screen, by the Meccano logo, the other to the right of the screen, above the black MECCANO PARTS LIST link.

Using either one, search for any term, including part names, part numbers, etc.

(If a search fails, try again with simple key words – for example if a search of “brass gear wheels” doesn’t return what you are looking for, try a search like “Gear, Part 27a” or just “27a”).

Via the Parts List:

Just click on any part on the illustrated Parts List to be see our listings for that type of part.

Via Categories:

All of our parts can be found through our Categories page.

Via the Home Page:

Recently Listed & Featured Items are also displayed on our Home Page.

Via the Recently Viewed Products:

To help you to easily revisit an item, your recently viewed products are displayed on the right hand side of the screen.

Once you’ve found a product you want, you can either add it straight to your Cart, or save it to your Wishlist to easily come back to it later.

How to Buy.

Once you are ready to check-out, view your cart.

Your cart can be found:

  • By clicking the cart icon in the top right of the screen
  • By clicking the view cart button that appears after adding any item to your cart
  • Or on the homepage, on the right hand side of the screen, beneath the MECCANO PARTS LIST button.

Once you are happy with your order, click “Proceed to Checkout” to be taken the the checkout page.

Postage.

We send most packages via Royal Mail Tracked 48, but some orders may be sent using alternative services depending on their size, weight, or value.

The cost of postage for your order will be automatically calculated at checkout.

Alternatively, you can request an invoice for your postage. We will then manually calculate the cost and email you a payment link.

When requesting an invoice, you can also include a note detailing any special shipping requirements (for example, if you would like a package to be signed for, or if you would prefer that we delay dispatch until a certain date).

International Shipping.

For customers outside the UK, postage is only available via invoice, as international shipping costs vary widely depending on the destination, size, and weight of the order. 

The invoice will include the postage charge, and customers are responsible for any additional customs duties, taxes, or import fees required by their country. This ensures that international orders are processed accurately and transparently.

Accounts

Our site allows you to create an account, which allows you to:

  • Keep track of your orders and download invoices from your account page

  • Easily manage your Wishlist

  • Checkout faster without entering your details each time

Accounts are optional, and you can shop without one.
